Review Boulder Show
So the show in Boulder finally happened. My host Todd and I kept missing each other and miscommunicating until I thought about just skipping over Boulder. Luckily I didn't; I made over $100--more than any other show I've ever played. Ever. And in a show with 7 people in attendance.
The other day I was standing on sidewalk in Denver thinking of what a sorry situation I was in. I needed money. I didn't have a show in Denver. I stayed in Denver way longer than I thought I would. I didn't feel comfortable sitting around all day. Besides that, I needed to start planning for school and my academic situation (applying for the education program) which called for my being in Lincoln on the 16th of the month. I was bound and afflicted and my mother wasn't making it easier. I needed a boost of hope. Besides even that, Emily was trying to figure out what I would before Sunday when she gets off work from MiVoden. The plan involved my sleeping on the road, camping, and paying MiVoden for food. This plan was hapharzard to say the least. But right then, a truck drove by with a Bible verse that said: "You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. " Isaiah 26:3. The funny thing about this verse is that it has followed and haunted me for a number of years now. It will appear suddenly on a card, a note, even simply a random opening of the Bible. I was telling someone this morning of how this whole trip has been one miracle after another; I am being taken care of and I need to learn to relax. I need to learn to go with what the the universe/God throws at me because the universe/God are going to take care of me. It's been a humbling and inspiring thought the past few days.
I mentioned to Todd how I needed to leave that night because I had 15 hours of driving until I got to Spokane/MiVoden Camp. I said how I had tried finding a couch or even a show in Wyoming but nothing doing. In a matter of minutes, I was talking to a friend of his from Jackson, Wyoming that would set up a show for me there. Apparently Jackson is like a small Boulder in Wyoming.
This is Major. He is a yoga teacher and botar player (that strange instrument he's tuning). Later in the evening he performed a traditional Buddhist chant in Hindi. He let me play it a little.
This is the next morning . I slept on the floor near the coffee table where I'm sitting. Major slept on the couch. I hope my mother doesn't see this picture and think I need to gain weight. You can see my ribs!
And that's me.
Helloooooooooooo!
